Should You Break Up?

There’s not much that justifies making you feel disrespected, starved for attention, and emotionally drained. I’m realizing more and more that there’s really no point in putting up with pals who make it difficult to figure out where you stand, play games, or gaslight. Pals who are clear, loving, supportive, and open are the ones who create relationships that are worth investing yourself in. Obviously this list isn’t the answer to the question « should you breakup » but hopefully asking yourself if you want to leave is the first indication of what you should do. Remember that the longevity of a relationship doesn’t signify its success. Sometimes, getting out early is better for everyone involved. And remember that removing pals who aren’t right creates space for something wonderful to flourish. Leaving can feel really scary, but it’s far less frightening then thinking about the person you have to be if you stay. You get to have higher standards than “enduring the bare minimum”. You’re worth so much more and you get to pick pals that recognize and support that. Remember: the end is only the beginning of something new. 💜
